The Disparity Reducing Advances Project (the DRA Project) is a multi-year, multi-stakeholder project developed by IAF to identify the most promising advances for bringing health gains to the poor and underserved and accelerating the development and deployment of these advances to reduce disparities. In 2009, IAF provided the American Board of Certification of Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics with a set of forecasts and scenarions, with IAF used to facilitate meetings of the Board's senior management.
In 2008, IAF developed a set of four scenarios for the health industry in 2018 by conducting an environmental scan, developing forecasts, and interviewing more than 20 thought leaders. IAF then facilitated a workshop with AARP senior managers, who explored the scenarios and identified implications for AARP strategy.
Based on an environmental scan of trends and forces affecting orthodontics over the next decade, IAF developed a set of four scenarios to guide strategic planning by the Southern Association of Orthodontists. Click here for the scenario report.
In 2006, IAF partnered with Novo Nordisk to explore the future of diabetes. IAF worked with the Yale University Schools of Public Health and Medicine to develop forecasts for the future of diabetes and identify barriers to chronic disease care. IAF also developed scenarios for the future of diabetes as well as exploring the policy implications of diabetes during its Foresight Seminar on Health and Innovation.
